Grief : Part 2

My emotions

Are an ocean

Vast And endless

I am insignificant

In this expanse,

I am treading pain

The way one treads water.

At this rate

I fear I will quickly tire

My tolerance will expire.

I am desperate for land

Sweet solid stability

My meaningful relationships

Are an island

They provide a highland

I can swim too

And hold

As if my life depends upon it

Because it does

And when I’ve escalated so high

There is no logic,

I can’t even move !

I am frozen as if weighed down ,

This sadness is heavy

And steals my breath :

There is life

And there is death.
